How to Say, “I will come on …” in Kinyarwanda?

Dialogue

Umuntu 1: Ndagukumbuye. / I miss you.
Umuntu 2: Ndagukumbuye nanjye. Uzansura ryari? / I miss you too. When will you visit me?

Umunsi 1: Nzaza ku wa mbere. / I will come on Monday.
Umuntu 2: Ndagutegereje. / I am waiting for you.

Vocabulary

Ndagukumbuye = I miss you. (comes from the verb “gukumbura” which means to miss someone)
Nanjye = Me too.
Uzansura = You will visit me. (comes from the verb “gusura” which means to visit)
Ryari = When
Nzaza = I will come (comes from the verb “kuza” which means to come)
Ku wa mbere = On monday
Ku wa kabiri = On tuesday
Ku wa gatatu = On Wednesday
Ku wa kane = On Thursday
Ku wa gatanu = On Friday
Ku wa gatandatu = On Saturday
Ku cyumweru = On Sunday

Gukumbura

Muzadukumbura = You will miss us.
Ndagukumbuye = I miss you.
Turabakumbuye = We miss you.
Urankumbuye = You miss me.
Nzabakumbura = I will miss you. (Telling many people.)

Gusura

Nzagusura = I will visit you.
Uzansura = You will visit me
Tuzabasura = We will visit you.
Mwaradusuye = You visited us.
Yaransuye = He/she visited me.

Kuza

Nzaza = I will come
Yaje = He/she has come
Azaza = He/she will come
Yaraje = He/she came
Naraje = I came
Tuzaza = We will come
